Wisdom Martin is a seasoned anchor and reporter currently working at FOX 5 DC in Washington D.C, serving as the morning weekday anchor from 4am to 6am and on the daily lifestyle show Good Day DC from 9am to 11am. He first joined the Fox 5 news team back in 2003.
Martin graduated from Jackson State University where he began his journalism career, working at the college station WAPT running the teleprompter on weekends. He quickly moved up the ranks, becoming an editor, news photographer and weekend sports reporter before even completing his degree.
After graduation, Martin went on to gain invaluable experience at stations across the country before landing at Fox 5. This included serving as a news and sports anchor and reporter at KSEE in Fresno, California; a weekend anchor at CNN in Atlanta; and an anchor and reporter at WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee.
Over his prolific career, the skilled journalist has covered a wide range of major news events. Some highlights include: reporting live from Miami on the shocking murder of Washington Redskins footballer Sean Taylor; being the first reporter on-scene for Fox 5’s award-winning coverage of the D.C serial bank robberies; and spending several days live on-air covering the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
When he’s not chasing the next big news story, Martin enjoys cooking, coaching kids’ basketball and baseball, speaking at schools, keeping fit and spending quality time with family.
